Since the 1880's White Bear Lake has had the privileged use of a library. Beginning in June, 2014 the White Bear Lake library will be expanded and renovated to a 21st century library in terms of book collections, public computing, and services. |
why contribute construction progress
The renovation for the new White Bear Area library is under construction! After 40 years in the existing building and over 125 years of history the new library will feature the following:
• Over 3,700 new square feet, a 29% increase
• Expanded & redesigned children’s area
• New teen room
• Reading patio & garden
• 60% increase inn computer work stations
• New collections
• Enlarged community room
• 8 new study rooms
• Family & accessible restrooms
• Improved visibility and access

many thanks to the Friends of the Ramsey County Libraries. The Friends was formed in 1979 to advocate for and support public library services provided in suburban Ramsey County. The Friends is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization with a governing board of directors, two part-time staff, and hundreds of dedicated volunteers. For over 35 years the Friends have provided funding for library equipment, books, computers, a van, printers, and fundraising help our suburban library system.
